General Data Protection Regulation and how it relates to your website<\/strong><\/h2>\n

You have more than likely received a lot of emails about the GDPR these past couple weeks.<\/p>\n

This is directly related to the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) going into effect on\u00a0May 25th<\/sup><\/strong> 2018.<\/p>\n

The new regulation expands on consumer privacy protections and outlines the territorial scope of who must comply with the regulation\u00a0and it affects both European\u00a0and<\/strong>\u00a0non-European businesses.<\/p>\n

This has to do with how companies need to handle and store their consumer data.<\/p>\n

The fine for non-compliance is 4% of annual global turnover or \u20ac20 Million (whichever is greater<\/strong>).<\/p>\n
