You needed a very expensive camera and complicated software, but nowadays everyone can do it and even with your smartphone. Here is my latest video shot at the beach and read below for my <strong>12 step-technique to make better and more professional looking videos.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/aCWO0VTuIDE\" width=\"100%\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\">&lt;span data-mce-type=&#8221;bookmark&#8221; style=&#8221;display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;&#8221; class=&#8221;mce_SELRES_start&#8221;&gt;\ufeff&lt;\/span&gt;<\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">12 step-technique to make more professional looking videos.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>You will need at least a <strong>recent smartphone<\/strong> that is able to record 4K videos (I use an IPhone X).<\/li><li>Buy and download the application <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/apple.co\/2H98AXv\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>FiLMic PRO<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>with the cinematic add-on to able to record <strong>LOG<\/strong> files. (extra $10)<br><em>LOG files are flat video with low saturation and low contrast that they will give you more control of the color grading in post-production. It&#8217;s like shooting raw for photos and edit them in Lightroom.\u00a0<\/em><\/li><li>Set your video recording setting to <strong>24fps<\/strong> and possibly at <strong>1\/48 shutter speed<\/strong>.<br><em>This is a rule that will make your movie more cinematic. However, for shooting a 1\/48 of a second you will need some ND Filters otherwise the scene it will be too bright to be shot at this shutter speed.<\/em><\/li><li>Shoot using the back camera (not the selfie camera) of your phone because it has better lens and quality.<\/li><li>Use <strong>Graduated<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>ND Filter<\/strong> or <strong>Polarize Filter<\/strong> to make the sky look more intense.<\/li><li>Use a <strong>wide lens<\/strong> to shoot more of the scene. I use an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/partner.shopmoment.com\/jW0Vx6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">18mm wide lens from Moments<\/a>\u00a0(there is a 10% discount for new purchases)<\/li><li>Use a <strong>Gimbal<\/strong> to stabilize your video if you are walking or riding a bike. I used <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2IOYbUV\" target=\"_blank\">DJI OSMO Mobile 2 Gimbal<\/a>\u00a0but I tested also the <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2r11u0i\" target=\"_blank\">Zhiyun Smooth Q Gimbal<\/a>. In the end, I decided for the DJI OSMO because it&#8217;s more compatible with FiLMic Pro App.<\/li><li>Bring your footage into<strong>\u00a0Final Cut Pro<\/strong> and adjust the saturation and contrast of the video.<\/li><li>Find usable <strong>music without copyrights<\/strong>. The easiest way where find free music is look on your YouTube channel in the Create section. There you can find thousands of free tracks ready to use. Alternatively, you can buy them on\u00a0<a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/themeforest.net\/?ref=mirkojax\" target=\"_blank\">ThemeForest.net<\/a> (make sure to check them out since there is a free track to download every month)<\/li><li>After you find the music track, cut your footage and try to <strong>sync the scene with the music beat<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Add final touches like adding a <strong>LUT<\/strong> (lookup tables) and <strong>letterbox<\/strong>\u00a0on your movie.<br><i>LUTs are color filters that will adjust the look of your video to make it more cinematic. You can download LUT files to make your video greenish as The Matrix or bluish as The\u00a0Revenant\u00a0movie.<\/i><br><i>Letterbox is an easier way to make your video look like a movie adding the black bars above and below your movie.
