One of the popular categories utilized is news and blog results when it comes to finding the data and information we are seeking online.<\/p>\n<p>In a survey from Top Rank Online Marketing,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.toprankblog.com\/2010\/01\/survey-seo-blogging\/\">95% of respondents<\/a>\u00a0indicated that they were incorporating blogs as a part of their SEO online marketing strategies. Furthermore, more than 87% of those polled indicated that blogging successfully increased their measurable SEO objectives. Of those who weren\u2019t satisfied with blogging efforts, some admitted it was due to their own lack of contributing regularly to their online blog.<\/p>\n<p>Many are pointing to the 2013 release of the Hummingbird algorithm that places more emphasis on social media and blogging when it comes to SEO results. Critics are pondering an increased emphasis being placed on Google\u2019s own map site, Places and their social outlets like Google+ Hangouts. But there is more to Hummingbird than social media and blogging, things like shorter page titles and more relevant page content, which should encompass blogging. It also refers to \u201cconversational\u201d search leverages and their \u201cknowledge graph\u201d in an attempt to make searching more human and less robotic.<\/p>\n<h2><strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Expert Analysis<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">In a <a href=\"http:\/\/moz.com\/community\/q\/how-do-blogs-affect-seo\">Moz Q&amp;A<\/a> post posted by content marketer, regarding this specific question from a user, \u201cCould you help me understand how blogs affect SEO and how this works specifically when a blog is located within a site?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Some consultants, marketers and blog experts chimed in on this important topic:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\"><strong>James Norquay, Consulting Director and Prosperity Media<\/strong>, offers, \u201c<strong>Blogs are great for SEO<\/strong> because you have a platform for search engines to provide fresh new content, the problem with static websites is that the content is always the same. This is where blogs always push new content.\u201d This type of \u201cfresh\u201d new content is what grabs SEO attention.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\"><strong>Ryan Kent, founder and CEO of Vitopian<\/strong>, a Sacramento based online business consulting service, gave this excellent analogy. He used the example of how a tennis supply store could better reach internet customers by blogging about valuable topics, like choosing the best racquet, avoiding common injuries and a beginner\u2019s guide to the game. He goes onto state the importance of the engagement potential available with reaching out to online users outside the storefront.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\"><strong>Ryan Schwab, a National Marketing Director for an adoption agency<\/strong>, gives a more overall approach to better SEO results when he states, \u201cBlogs are a well understood format for delivering new content.
